ooookay, so the results of my mri came back... i have a rip in my cartledge... not big enough to really operate, but big enough that my dr. told me i should quit soccer... quit running.. quit any sport that has to do with running or pivoting... so ya know.. basically all the good ones. i asked what i can do, he had one option..... swimming.. blarrrggg. i love cometetive team sports, i love the adrenaline rush of playing awesome and winning... i love soccer pure and simple. and i'm sick of people tellimg me "oh well theres other ways to get exercise and to stay in shape" that's not the point!!! it's not about that, it's about pure love and enjoyment for the game. i asked him if surgury would be an option, he said not really because they would go in and take out a big chunk of cartledge and then i'd get early arthritis. he's like you dont really want to get arthritis in your 30's do you.
in anycase, i'm getting a 2nd opinion, i have an appt in 1 1/2 weeks. this is the 2nd time my family dr has been content to tell me to simply stop. the first time i did, cause i'd had so many tests came up and he couldn't figure out what was wrong. so i quit for 4 years, till matt recommended i go see dr. randy gregg (former edmonton oilers woooo) he specializes in sports injuries... and he solved my first knee problem...
i was pretty bummed out... so i undulged in retail therapy... green miehena's, army capri, army vest, lamb chop tee.... one lamb shopping spree later, i have one cute outfit... and feel somewhat better.. but i still love soccer, and don't want to quit.

I would wait until you see a sports doctor. They do tend to know a bit more about sports and related injuries right???

And besides, you won't get arthritis in your knees, if you stop eating greasy foods, most dairy (especially ice cream) and most red meats. Arthritis is just a simple build up of dampness in the body. Although you do have some challenges with your spleen, which pre-desposes you to dampness, I have my career bent on the fact I can heal you :P

So there.
